Challenged Athletes Foundation

Yeah, the Kelly Brush Foundation, they've been incredible.

Um, they've helped me get my sled equipment at some time, and the CAF grant as well, the Chan- Challenge Athletes Foundation grant.

Exactly, yeah.

Uh, those are two really big ones.

Matter of fact, one of our student liaisons, gosh, this must have been right around COVID, like maybe 2021, she actually called facilities across the country, and we had a pick list in the SIG for, for where you, places you could go for a rotation, a clinical rotation, that would have a higher preponderance of amputation cases.

But I'll tell ya, you, the, right now, the best way to, to get engaged in amputation care, um, Amputee Coalition, uh, Acute Care Focus Group, APA Federal Special Interest Group in Amputation Care, um, Challenged Athlete Foundation.

Um, look at going to a university with somebody where you can get a, a, you know, maybe a PhD if you wanna do research.

And, you know, the, Miami clearly has a whole lot of content there.

So low vision BMX racing is growing fast.

And with the support from groups like the Foundation Fighting Blindness and the Challenge Athletes Foundation, we're proving what's possible.

So it's crazy.

Yeah.

And I love to cycle.

And I know lots of triathletes and involved with Challenged Athletes Foundation, all of that stuff.

And very privileged, very linear, very, I don't know, just different.

But I love living here.

You mentioned it a little bit earlier.

Um, you used to work for a foundation, Challenge Athletes Foundation.

Can you talk a little bit about that?

Yeah, so I, I had a 15, uh, plus year career, uh, at the Challenge Athletes Foundation.

I used to be the director of programs there.

And, you know, I, I worked my way up from the front desk.
