Chairs Missing

Number two is Wire, Chairs Missing.

Wire, post-punk? Don't know.

I kind of figured.

It really does complement what's being done on this album and these are quick constructions i'd say two minute and 30 second songs all the way up to like three minute 20 to three minute and 30 second songs um they have a real sense of building to choruses that are propulsive but not in a big over the top way they're They're profound, but in their own way.

That's where it's a little bit like wire in that they do these quick hip snippets, whether it's Pink Flag or 154, Chairs Missing, even though all those wire albums are very different.

They all kind of have that thing where they grab your attention.

There's just something about them that grabs your attention.

So the very first record.

Personally, my favorite one is Chairs Missing, the second record.

Of the, of the, their three...

The ones that are held up the highest in music nerd camps, Pink Flag, Chairs Missing, and 154.

They also recorded a record, decided they didn't like it, and then they threw it away.

There's definitely this kinda robotic [laughs] automaton kinda thing going on that it seems, like, really strange when you first get into it.

But there is an allure and a real feeling of it having a place in the larger idiom of rock and roll the more you engage with it.
