And in fact, Colonel Larry Wilkerson on this week, uh, had a very similar view on that.

We're looking at a tapestry of warfare developing all the way from the now ice-free charted path through the Arctic that the Chinese have a ship in right now, minus icebreakers or anything else, just going on its merry way, proving that that passageway can be used now, all the way down to Bandar Abbas and Chabahar.

We're looking at an arc of warfare.

We're looking at instability all the way up and down that chain.

And by that, I mean the Israelis who are pushing him into war.

there's Chabahar, you know, on the coast of the Indian Ocean or the Arabian Sea, whatever you want to call it.

I don't know that that will be well received because that's a very important port for a lot of people outside of the region.

So I just don't know what you think you can accomplish with ground troops.

We don't have the air and missile defense to defend any of the ground posts that we've had in the region.

Now, could you seize an island? Could you use a combination of Marine and Army power to seize an island? Could you land at Chabahar on the Indian Ocean? Yeah, I suppose you could.

Now, you would then become, at some point, a target that sits there and will eventually have to be rescued if there's anything left.

But beyond that, I thought we discovered with the attempt to use special operations forces last year

Yeah, it was crazy.

So they had all huddled along the U.S. Navy blockade line off Chabahar.

And, and, uh, they were ready to go.

And I think mid, um,

It can for very little expense do a great deal of damage if you don't have air and missile defense, and right now we don't have the air and missile defense to d- defend any of the ground sta- ground posts that we've had in the region.

Now, could you seize an island? Could you use a combination of Marine and Army power to seize an island? Could you, could you land at, uh, Chabahar on the, uh, Indian Ocean? Yeah, I suppose you could.

And they're focused in various areas.

It goes all the way down to Chabahar, close to the Pakistani border.

And, you know, even to the extent down in that southeastern corner, there's an area where we have a unique type of a crocodile, which is a short-snouted crocodile that very few people actually know that Iran has crocodiles.

But there is a population there.

This is, of course, not the first time that the US has threatened sanctions on India in the recent past for a number of things.

In 2018, the US said it was giving a waiver, a carve out for Chabahar port, but it was only for humanitarian aid.

So even though the US was OK with India using Chabahar port in Iran, it was only meant for aid going to Afghanistan.

In 2019, in fact, later in that year, if you remember, the U.S. came out with its CAATSA law prohibiting big ticket defense items coming from Russia.

India went ahead and bought the S-400, but Trump was not really very active on implementing that particular law.

In fact, Mr. Trump also told India by December of 2025 that all Iran trade must stop.
