Cesária Évora

Iggy Pop.

Yeah, and he worked with Cesária Évora for these Atlantic ballads, and Ofra Haza for Middle Eastern tones.

So he proved his underlying compositions could seamlessly merge with punk, global pop, and all these various regional styles without losing their core identity.

It's amazing, and the music contains these deep inherent paradoxes, right? Especially in a film like Underground, which deals directly with the history and collapse of Yugoslavia.
