Zach, like I said, is a brand strategist.
WyattHOST
19:20
Zach has experience in the industry as well with his collaboration with Cervelo.
WyattHOST
19:27
And if you want to learn more about Zach, you can check him out over on LinkedIn as well as on his Instagram, Zach Heffner, at Zach Heffner.
WyattHOST

So this guy, like I mentioned, you'll hear in the conversation, he had posted about the situation.
Zach HeffnerGUEST
20:58
I really appreciate it.
Zach HeffnerGUEST
21:00
So yeah, brand strategy is my thing.
Zach HeffnerGUEST
21:02
I came up kind of in the production world, working on that kind of last mile of brand storytelling, brands like Cervelo, Easton Bell Sports.
Zach HeffnerGUEST
21:09
And it's also authentic to me.
Jens VoigtGUEST
37:41
So you have the freedom to choose and to act in the way y- you want, but you also then are obliged to live with the consequences of that, and that makes, uh, perfect sense, right? With Bjarne, we realized basically he is the original inventor of marginal gains.
Jens VoigtGUEST
37:59
Back then we had, uh, Cervélo bikes and Shimano, and Shimano wanted him to use their entire package, so also the wheels.
Jens VoigtGUEST
38:07
And Bjarne went, "No, your wheels right now are not good.
Jens VoigtGUEST
38:11
Not good enough for my team.
Trevor FoleyGUEST
22:26
So it's like, I'd spend money on the good TT bike first and then focus on the road bike.
Trevor FoleyGUEST
22:31
Let's not get the, you know, Cervelo or the S-Works before we get the TT bike.
Dirk FrielHOST
22:36
I mean,
Trevor FoleyGUEST

Shane HutsellGUEST

Pre-COVID, cycling, especially anything on drop bars, was this like, it felt like this forbidden fruit, and it was gated, and it was exclusive, and like roadies have a really bad rap for being not inclusive or welcoming and they did that to themselves for sure just that's that kind of elitism but what people need to understand is we can't we can't do that or this boom that we got from COVID is going to go away.
Shane HutsellGUEST
66:20
The more people on bikes, the better they're not on, you know, a $10,000 Cervelo.
Shane HutsellGUEST
66:27
So what they went to Walmart and they bought the Ozark bike because that's what they could afford.
Shane HutsellGUEST
66:31
And they're out here having the best time.
Jered GruberGUEST
61:01
Easy gear.
Jered GruberGUEST
61:02
So this year I converted a hardtail, my Cervelo hardtail, to Drop Bar, call it the Monster, and that has been a lot of fun.
Jered GruberGUEST
61:11
And I think it is actually like the perfect YOLO bike.
Jered GruberGUEST
61:14
It is so perfect for it.
Rob GitelisGUEST
18:11
I don't think they care about it at all anymore.
Rob GitelisGUEST
18:13
Definitely Cervelo cared about it quite a bit as well, and I think they also don't care about it as much anymore.
Rob GitelisGUEST
18:20
I think the consumer now is a lot more savvy and educated, more so than they were 15, 20 years ago, when they maybe had a lot more belief in those tests.
Josh PoertnerHOST
18:33
Let's talk about – I think last time I saw you was in Taipei for the trade show and you guys had just launched the Bugatti bike.
Marty SchaferGUEST
44:58
Okay.
Marty SchaferGUEST
44:59
So I went and bought a Cervelo triathlon bike.
Marty SchaferGUEST
45:02
I bought a book called Total Immersion, which was how to swim and like hire a swim coach.
Marty SchaferGUEST
45:10
And I can run for days because I'm a former soccer player.
WeiHOST
11:28
So that gives you more flexibility, but then we've regressed into integrated kind of cockpits again.
Matt WaltonHOST
11:35
Well, if you want to go that, if you want to go down that rabbit hole, if you really want to talk about regression, remember Cervelo a few years ago when they did their S3 disc.
Matt WaltonHOST
11:46
They put a quilled stem in it with internally routed cables and like weird headset spaces.
Matt WaltonHOST
11:54
That was full regression.
Emma FinucaneHOST
14:07
Like, but they're all, they're still on, all on their different bikes, which I find really funny because for us, we're all on the same.
Emma FinucaneHOST
14:12
Same equipment, same bikes, but they're all on, like, a Cervélo and-

Yeah
Emma FinucaneHOST

Simon von BromleyHOST

Now, Canyon says this has been wind tunnel tested at 35 kilometers per hour, which is good to see because obviously that's a slightly more realistic speed, even for gravel racing.
Simon von BromleyHOST
5:55
And they say it's basically as aero as a Cervelo Aspro 5 with 45 millimeter tires with control wheels.
Simon von BromleyHOST
6:02
and the moving legs mannequin so that's good testing uh and they say it's five watts more aerodynamic with 40 millimeter tires compared to the old ground now they use 40 millimeter tires there because of course the old grail can only fit up to 42 millimeter tires which is what i mean i think the really
Warren RossiterGUEST
6:17
interesting stat is that they tested this with like almost the max i can get in it a 55 mil tire and it's three watts quicker than the old grail with a 40.
