Cerro de la Estrella

A household's ordinary independence is suspended, while attention travels towards the place where the new flame must be obtained.

The priest's route leads to Huesactlan, associated with the hill now known as the Cerro de la Estrella.

The Florentine Codex describes the procession in divine attire and places the drawing of the new fire at midnight.

Here the account has left the first gathering of gods and entered a ceremony performed by people in a known place.
