Cycle around it

... you know, the Lymes of this world that are much more ubiquitous in Central London, and they want a piece of that pie.

Uh, because, you know, if you, if...

For the, from the perspective of their customers, why would you, I don't know, take out a bike in Hammersmith and Fulham if you live there if you can't actually commute to the city, if there's something stopping you from, from getting there? Um, and, you know, there...

If you look at the profit margins of contractors, you would be thinking, "Why on Earth so much risk, such little reward? Why on Earth would you be doing this?" But fundamentally, it's because people love what they do.

I have colleagues and friends, and including myself, who would walk around Central London, and I would be proudly saying, "Hey, you know, I was involved with this building, and the one across the road, I have a colleague who actually delivered that." It brings a certain pride in leaving a legacy beyond the just the flesh and the blood of human beings.

And I think that is the real kind of the soft elements of it.

'Cause until we recognize there is more value in life than just making money and producing profit, it's actually more to life, and we all know with aging and recognition that life is short, and we do want to have a purposeful life.

And then finally, when I met my ex-wife, she was the PA to my boss at work.

And worked in my industry, knew the people I worked with, lived in Central London, Kensington.

It was like, okay.

That fits into a pattern, right? And for the remainder of my married life, it was irrelevant.

But they're not honest.

Why don't they just say, "We wanna ban anybody who's got a right-wing view from covering their face"? Because they could have banned the Palestinian, oh, the underdogs, the Palestinian supporters who have been covering their faces for the last three or four years and vandalizing Central London, vandalizing the statue of our greatest ever prime minister, a proper prime minister, Winston Churchill.

Some days when I'm thinking about what to talk about in these shows, I simply depress myself or just end up laughing so much 'cause I, I can't believe where we've got to.

Great Britain.

So then Jack, I'm gonna say dragged, he didn't drag me, I went very willingly, to Prince Charles Cinema in Central London, and they do a New Year's Eve screening every year.

Hm.

And so we went, and I immediately loved it.

We have trains.

[laughs]

This is less of an issue in the UK, although I think the nicest thing anyone's ever done for me is when I moved back to the UK after I had some visa troubles and I had to be at home for a while, I had friends who met me at Heathrow with like a little sign even though they did not need to pick me up, 'cause I was just gonna get on the Tube and go into Central London, and it was so nice.

Like, I'd just been on an overnight flight.

We were doing well in the UK.

I had an office on top of Night Town, Central London, Regent Street.

Yeah.
