Central Hockey League

They were in the same league.

They were part of the Central Hockey League beginning in 96.

And there was a time that the Columbus Cottonmouths, they had the longest continuously named team in professional hockey ever.

than Georgia had ever had.

Training camp, again, I separated my shoulder.

So the biggest thing now going from playing against bigger guys in junior was now you're really playing against men in the NHL and the CHL, the Central Hockey League.

and some bad-ass men too.

So I separate my shoulder in, in training camp with the Leafs.

And so on both of those pieces of paper at the age of 30, on the hockey side, the only one I had met was playing pro hockey, but that was by choice.

I was offered a PTO with the Fort Worth Braumas in the old Central Hockey League.

But I decided like, it kind of run its course.

I didn't have- You had other

There were three teams that existed in Tucson for hockey throughout the 70s.

You had the Tucson Mavericks in 75, 76 at the CHL, the Tucson Icemen in 76, 77 in the Southwest Hockey League, and then the Tucson Rustlers of 78, 79 at the PHL.

So it is the Mavericks that I have the puck for.

I have a Tucson Mavericks puck.

And So I was a late bloomer and ended up playing junior A and then went the college route, played a year at the University of Alaska Anchorage and then transferred to St. Norbert College, a Division III school in Wisconsin.

And then bounced around the minors in the ECHL, the Central Hockey League, and never really thought that I was going to take it.

anything further than just being a player and one day retiring and getting a regular job and sort of fell into coaching down there in South Carolina with an opportunity.

And I fell in love with it right away.
