The 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China is holding its fifth plenary session in Beijing from Monday to Thursday.

The main agenda includes the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee reporting its work to the Central Committee and the session starting several major issues on persevering in advancing full and rigorous party self-governance.

First, he charged Falun Gong with being an evil cult, and then he ordered the police departments across the country to investigate Falun Gong systematically using undercover personnel to collect evidence.

Meanwhile, as the land reform extended its reach to remote areas and regions of ethnic minorities, the CCP's organizations also expanded quickly, establishing party committees and branches in every township and village.

These local branches worked to pass instructions from the CCP Central Committee and were at the front line of the class struggle.

During this period, the CCP launched its first wave of propaganda, declaring, Chairman Mao is the great savior of the people and that only the CCP can save China.

During land reform, the landless farmers got what they wanted through the CCP's policy of reaping without laboring and robbing without concern for the means.

But the policies always failed.

As a result, a grave famine swallowed China and left hunger, death, and destitution all over the land.

During the 8th CCP Central Committee meeting, which was held in Lushan in 1959, none of the participants disagreed with General Peng Dehuai's view that the Great Leap Forward, initiated by Mao Zedong, was foolish.

However, for delegates at the meeting, supporting Mao's policy or not marked the line between loyalty or betrayal.
