Central Bible College

We'll be right back after these messages.

The Assemblies of God just closed their Bible college, Valley Forge, and then they closed Evangel, or Central Bible College.

What has caused a denomination that was once so strong that it needed Bible schools all over the country and had such a large amount of youth feeling called to the ministry? What's caused such a major shift now where they're having to close schools?

The short version, the pipeline dried up.

It had about a thousand students when it rebranded as a university in 2014, but enrollment collapsed to 589, it ran up $32 million in debt, and its accreditor put it on show-cause status.

The board suspended operations this past summer.

Central Bible College didn't really close from collapse, it merged into Evangel University in 2013, because three Assemblies of God schools in one town couldn't all survive on shrinking enrollment.

The deeper causes stuck up.
