I'm a one-person company [laughing] so I feel-- So I'm very, I'm very proud of that.

I am, uh, I, I, I am a senior fellow with ACF, but also a, uh, adjunct senior fellow with the Center for a New American Security.

Well, I'm looking forward to this conversation today.

We've got a range of perspectives.

There's been a ton going on over the past year and really ramping up in the past few weeks around turnover, around failure to promote, firing of military and general flag officers, and controversies around how those are being put forward.

So we are very excited to welcome Dr. Kate Kuzminski, who is the director of studies at the Center for a New American Security.

She has spent many years of her career tracking something a lot of Americans don't pay as much attention to.

This wave of firings that we've talked about here before on the podcast, the block promotions that we're seeing moving through the senior officer corps right now.

According to a report from Futurism, Jacob Stokes, once a national security advisor to then-Vice President Joe Biden and later with the Department of Homeland Security, laid out the case in a new paper titled Superpowers and AGI.

This was published through the Center for a New American Security.

The South China Morning Post also highlighted the document.

Stokes, now deputy director of CNAS's Indo-Pacific Security Program, starts from the premise that AGI is coming and that the U.S. cannot afford to finish second.

Certainly, Iran has the same precision and standoff capacity, uh, that is, you know, essentially winning the war for them.

And so then the third offset is, and this comes out of CNAS, and this is the, uh, think tank which eighteen, uh, US senior officials are allied with, including Colby, including, uh, all the hawks and neocons that we're-- that, that we can think of right now.

They said, "We need to look for the third offset." Third offset is dispersion.

If ma- if precision beats mass, then how do you defeat precision? Well, you disperse, you distribute, you diffuse your forces.

And so that's where we're back at right now.

And Elbridge Colby has been arguing for this for eleven years now.

When he was at CNAS, you know, he said, you know, "We need to flexibly and rationally be able to offer the use of nuclear weapons as an option." And he's been, you know, thumping the Bible on this for eleven years now, and right now, he's number three at the Pentagon.

Now, he's pushing it through.

CSIS is doing an event on space launch capacity.

And then I mentioned the CNAS event on orbital data centers.

Peterson Institute is holding a September event on what really is going on with global supply chains.

And then there are multiple events commemorating 9-11.

Referring to the U.S. as a hypothetical laggard state behind Chinese achievements in AGI, Stokes, now the deputy director of the Indo-Pacific Security Program, sounds like an NGO think tank, Oh, it is.

And that's at the Center for the New American Security, a prominent D.C. think tank, writes that the country could try to sabotage the leading state's AGI systems either through physical infiltration or offensive cyber operations.

That is cyber attacks.

So this guy is outright calling for war against China so they cannot get AGI.
