Third met second in Iparua with Almeria going ahead early on before a late Pajinho equaliser for Eibar meant that the game ended 1-1.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
5:45
Celta Fortuna played out an eventful 2-2 draw with Cordoba.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
5:49
Two red cards for the away side saw them end the game with nine, but they managed to come back twice to pick up a point.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
5:58
Joseba Echeverria got his second win in a row as Albacete coach.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
3:39
But promptly got accosted by a steward and moved on because it is, of course, the day before the game, which means it's a behind closed doors training session itself.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
3:51
It's the ones where usually they would be practicing their set pieces, where they would be practicing things more with the 11 that are going to take to the field tomorrow for Girona's game against Celta Fortuna, which I will be here for.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
4:09
And that is leg one of my three-leg weekend.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
4:12
Leg two sees me head to Sabadell on Sunday lunchtime to meet with Liam Bambridge.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
4:32
And on this week's extra content, I'll bring you the Andorra leg walk.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
4:37
of the trip and that will be me heading to see Andorra taking on Burgos so lots of live action to come and we will also be chatting about the other games on the show across the weekend as well so if you're not interested in those three games don't worry we will still be talking other Segunda things so it's now saturday and i've made my way into central giordano and for anyone that hasn't been put it on your bucket list it is an absolutely stunning city and for those of you that have seen game of thrones the the best way to probably describe it is to say that a lot of game of thrones or many scenes from game of thrones were filmed here, so we're talking cobbled streets, stone streets, little alleyways, just this really old, ancient, rustic feel to it as a city with a stunning river, beautiful bridges, a cathedral on the hill and city walls as well which are absolutely stunning and it's the sort of place where you can wander for hours and get lost but quite happily get lost because at every single turn you're going to find something new it's it's absolutely stunning so I've had a little wonder.

I'm sitting down now for a cafe con leche which is obviously not a Catalan speciality but a xixu as well which is a Catalan or a Girona speciality and it's basically a fried pastry with custard inside and coated with cinnamon so I'm about to tuck into that that's a bit of a local local delicacy and then I'm going to have a little wander through the streets of Girona and get back to my hotel and then make my way up to the ground because for those of you that might have forgotten and it seems like I've forgotten there is a game on today and that's Girona taking on Celta Fortuna yes I'm going to see a B team I'm quite looking forward to seeing them, actually.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
7:03
They play some very attractive football.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
6:26
They became only the second club all season to beat Sabadell as they won 1-0 in El Planteo to close the weekend's action.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
6:34
Still to play this Monday night, Celta Fortuna host Tenerife.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
6:38
That's Tete's third Monday night game in a row.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
6:42
Don't forget to check out the free Patreon article tomorrow where we will cover that Monday night game.

We've already talked about how quirky it is for its geographical features with island clubs like Tenerife and Las Palmas, exclave teams like Ceuta, and a foreign side in FC Andorra.
Paul WatsonHOST
1:50
But the league is also home to two reserve sides, Celta Fortuna and Real Sociedad B, and they met in Vigo last weekend.
Lee WingateHOST
1:59
Yes, and so to mark that occasion, we're going to be looking at B teams in Spanish football today and answering some interesting questions along the way, such as what still-unmatched feat did Real Madrid Castilla achieve back in 1980? Which B team rules are in place to make sure big clubs don't abuse the system? Do reserve teams in the Spanish lower leagues have any fans whatsoever? Did their inclusion in the pyramid play a role in Spain lifting the 2026 World Cup? And how does Spain's approach compare to the other major players in European football? Paul, let's start with an overview of B teams in Spanish football.
Paul WatsonHOST
2:41
Yeah, so B teams and feeder teams have been integrated in the Spanish football pyramid for decades now, and it provides young players with valuable experience and a chance to compete against more seasoned, experienced players in a professional environment.
Paul WatsonHOST
4:43
[laughs] Yeah.
Lee WingateHOST
4:45
But fast-forward to this century, there has been at least one reserve team in the second tier of Spanish football in 21 seasons, since 2002 to 2003.
Lee WingateHOST
4:57
And this season, as we mentioned at the top of the show, there are two B teams in La Liga 2, the newly promoted Celta Fortuna, they are Celta Vigo's reserves, and Real Sociedad B, and they met each other at the weekend.
Lee WingateHOST
5:12
We're gonna be talking about that later on.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
19:57
Speaking of high lines, Liam, speaking of teams that like to run, teams that like to press, teams that like to attack, we saw a rather interesting spectacle and a rare specimen, I should say, in Segunda División this weekend, and that was an all-B-team affair.
LiamHOST
20:20
Yeah, I mean, one convincingly by Celta Fortuna on the home side.
LiamHOST
20:27
Nice to see a decent turnout.
LiamHOST
20:28
We've talked, haven't we, in the past about one of the biggest issues we have is that no one seems to be very interested in B team's a decent turnout, given it was, again, it was against a B team.
LiamHOST
20:39
You know, you wouldn't expect it to draw a big crowd, but they seem to be doing quite well with their numbers in Balaidos this season.
LiamHOST
20:44
And, you know, I think, as we said last week, they're so weak at the moment, aren't they? They've got so many players that are unavailable to them.
LiamHOST
20:52
And Celta Fortuna are outstanding in this game, I thought.
LiamHOST
20:55
And they play lovely football, Celta Fortuna, and really won this game very convincingly.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
5:01
Eldense came from a goal behind against Cordoba to win 2-1 with a stoppage-time Fidel penalty that left Cordoba coach Ivan Ania fuming.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
5:10
Both B teams clashed on Saturday night in Vigo with Celta Fortuna running out 4-1 winners in a game of attack, attack, attack.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
5:18
On Sunday, Andorra scored early against Castellon and that is how it ended.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
5:22
1-0 winners with hundreds of Castellon fans shut out of the ground in the cold.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
15:03
It's not at all.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
15:05
Um, however, a- across in Gijon we saw Celta Fortuna go a goal up and I, I have to say, until the sending off, which there's, there's been a lot of online discussion from, from Celta fans about whether this is a sending off or not.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
15:22
It's a sending off.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
15:23
He pulls his shirt outside the box, there's a through ball, he's gonna get onto, onto the end of the ball.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
15:47
Sporting score from the resultant free kick.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
15:50
The game changes.
Alex FitzpatrickHOST
15:52
But I tell you what, in the second half, Liam, even with 10 men, if there's a team who are losing in a game I would say maybe apart from Castellon, Celta Fortuna are the team that I would not want to go into the last 15 minutes of a game with only a 1-0 lead or a one-goal lead, because they will throw the kitchen sink at you, and they don't care if they concede goals at the other end because then they're not gonna sort of die wondering, are they?
LiamHOST
16:24
No, exactly.
