But something about the Infinity Stones are alive.

They have living beings in them, the people, maybe the Celestials that set them up or made a system for them.

I mean, it's a very specific thing to have to sacrifice yourself for something.

called the Soul Stone on that mountain where there's clearly magic involved.

but I feel like the quality of it actually is really good and there's still I think it does one specific thing I think it does incredibly well is the speedster in it other than her being deaf which I think is kind of odd because the Eternals are created by you know all the What is their name? Not the Eternals.

The Celestials.

They're created to be like these perfect, powerful beings and stuff.

And then I guess they make one of them deaf, which is kind of funny.

A tale of two movies that both tried to advance the cinematic universe, one that opened doors to its future, another that marked a retreat.

What happened with both of these movies? And what do they represent to the MCU now in its Doomsday era? And while Shang-Chi is definitely set to be a huge star in Doomsday and Secret Wars, we're also going to talk about how the MCU isn't and really shouldn't be done with the Celestials either.

Eternals begins with kind of a book of Genesis scroll, explaining the Celestials and Eternals as part of the origins of this universe.

Ten immortal beings, known as the Eternals, arrive on Earth aboard the Celestial ship called the Domo.

And then, of course, it's a classic.

We have to come together to stop the giant Celestial.

So that could be our Avengers film.

But.

So I think the presence in, in the mind that Charles feels is Eson.

It's, it's the, it's the Celestials.

Yeah,

yeah.

ship.

So during the Stone Age of humanity, the first host of the Celestials... visited Earth and experimented on whatever was there.

And when they left Earth, they left behind ship.

I really, you know, felt that moment.

And when he's talking to the Celestial, which would, you know, Eson.

That whole scene is just so, so dope.

And I just really enjoyed that.

All right.

So let's continue.

Beast, Rogue, and Nightcrawler find ship abandoned by Apocalypse, and Rogue uses it to speak with Eson, the Celestial.

He removes the external power from her, but she convinces him to give her back the power to stop Apocalypse and save Gambit in exchange for her life.

That's their power, as far as I can tell.

She teamed up with them again in order to destroy the Creation Constellation, which turned humans into Celestials, uh, because that obviously would be a bad thing to have humans just running around as omnipotent, giant, godlike figures who want to destroy the Earth.

Oh, yeah.

You wouldn't need too many.

... quite large.

I don't even understand how the emergence of a Celestial would work in practical terms.

[laughs] Where does it stand? Like, the Earth's already gonna be destroyed by the time it gets all the way out there.

It just kinda float?

Yeah, they do one kinda shot where it floats out, and the Earth disintegrates behind it, 'cause it's not as big as the Earth, but it, it's on a planetary scale.

Yeah, the visuals of Arishem that we get are pretty cool, pretty awe-inspiring scale for the Celestials.

I thought that was one thing the movie did pretty well.

Yeah, those things are great.
