problem.

for the harvest now decrypt later.
43:12
When I think about that and I think about the impact that that's going to have, it reminds me of, do you guys remember the Equifax breach? It happened like back 2018 maybe.
43:24
So hundreds of thousands of user data impacted, but much of that data, although it's in the adversary's hands, it's still encrypted.
43:37
So when Equifax looked at the impact of the breach, the impact level kind of went down a bit because they knew that some of that data, although gone from their system, still was encrypted.
43:50
Now, when we talk about harvest now, decrypt later, that's what the enemy is doing.
43:55
They're taking data that they don't have access to today, but they're not worrying about that because they know once quantum computing gets to the point that it needs to get to, they'll be able to decrypt it later.

What are some practical steps that you would recommend sharing with the audience to bring back to the organization to begin with?

Now I'm gonna turn it over to Dr. Celeste Chamberlain to go through her presentation today.
4:22
All right, good afternoon or good morning still, everyone.
4:26
Thank you to our colleagues from industry and from academia for being here.
4:32
So today we are going to discuss quantum computing, not as a distant possibility, but as a strategic imperative that's unfolding right now.
4:43
So whether you are deciding on a major or recruiting talent or investing in R&D, or you're training the next generation.
4:53
The decisions you make in the next few years will determine your competitive edge for the next few decades.
5:01
So before we get started, I want to set some expectations.

But adding to that, Dr. Chamberlain, what does this signal about quantum moving into academia and eventually into the consumer world at our fingertips.

This is about a 30 minute presentation, and then we're going to open it up to fireside chat.
