Now it takes place annually and is a highlight of the Pride calendar.

So PAM is the Pride Art Map in Margate.

It's a town-wide celebration of LGBTQ art and creativity and it takes place, it started as a weekend, week-long thing and now it's become a month, which is great.

That's Cavell Rafferty, one of the lead organisers of the Pride Art Map, which this year saw over 40 exhibitions take place all over this small seaside town.

We started during lockdown, I believe, during Covid, and Alex Menes had the idea of bringing art onto the streets and having some kind of connection when we couldn't.

But due to restrictions, we couldn't get together, we couldn't march, we couldn't party either, we couldn't demonstrate.

So it was a way of connecting.

connecting with each other and it feels like an obvious thing to do in Margate now but until somebody comes up with that idea so thanks to Alex for doing that.
