Cave Creek Museum

Today on 4Q, we're going to talk about foods that built civilizations, but we're turning our attention to the Americas and the three sisters, corn, bean, and squash.

If you've ever been to the Cave Creek Museum just north of Phoenix, it's worth going.

I lived in Phoenix for 28 years, and one of the things I always loved about the Valley of the Sun was that almost anywhere somebody digs deep enough, somebody who came before us shows up.

You'd find pieces of pottery, remnants of a village, an old canal, something left behind by people who had already figured out how to live, and not simply live, but prosper, in one of the least forgiving landscapes in North America.

And Nanny Nikki's imagination station is growing, too.

I'll also be getting involved with the Cave Creek Museum this fall doing children's story time there.

I'm not really sure if I'm doing a live reading or what I'm presenting, but I am definitely in the lineup for the October 17th opening of the Cave Creek Museum.

I am ridiculously excited about this.

So if you're local to Cave Creek, keep an eye out for that because I'll be sharing more info about it when we get closer to that date.
