Every week here on the show, we visit with Shea Dixon from On3, the Bengal Tiger, and we talk recruiting.

And as, of course, you can imagine, with NIL and the Transfer Portal, the landscape is and recruiting has just completely changed and you come to expect things that you might otherwise in a different era would never have expected which is why we're going to start with jayden miles if you're a recruiting fan you know the name if you're a high school football fan in the baton rouge area you know the name jayden miles is an outstanding running back at catholic high in baton rouge if you just look at his recruiting profile it tells you the story miles is um on the on three composite the number 398 overall prospect the 27th best running back he is a four star in the composite 24-7 thinks much more highly of jayden miles they have him as the 16th best running back in the country Well, Jaden Miles is currently committed to Florida State, and he did so over the summer.

And it's interesting because throughout their recruitment, there are two elite in-state running backs for 2027.

It's Trey Martin from Franklin Parish and Jaden Miles.

Well, everything kind of got a little screwy and LSU ends up taking three running back commits, one of them being Trey Martin.

And that left Jade Miles on the market, and he ended up committing to Florida State.

That seems to be a little bit in flux, especially after a monster performance from Miles this past weekend on Friday night for Catholic High against Zachary, another dominant program in the area, where Jade Miles had 11 carries for 214 yards and six, count them, six touchdowns for the Bears.

He has certainly gotten the eye of the LSU coaching staff, and Shea Dixon kind of gave us the update on Jade Miles.

Did you take a visit to LSU, or did you just commit? I took a visit probably back in, like, 10th grade.

We played a school called Catholic High School.

Yeah, that's where I went.

Okay, yeah, we ended up taking a visit.

Still fourth down.

So Hood, who was shaken up on that kickoff return just a while ago, set to receive the puck from Donnie Jones, a sophomore out of right here in Baton Rouge, played at Catholic High School.

Tries to pooch this one.

Spiral is not going to turn over.

So, uh, against a, a loaded field of people that are all trying to get to, to Nike, uh, he stepped up huge.

And then, uh, our young guys are, are really figuring it out, um, in this meet that we went to this weekend at Catholic High.

It was, uh, all the top teams in the state, and we walked away third overall, uh, on the boys' side, uh, with about five weeks to go, so that was really awesome.

And then, uh, on the girls' side, um, it's, uh, basically, uh, one senior and then a whole bunch of sophomores, uh, and a freshman that are out there.

Uh, I think it was this past weekend.

[laughs] Yeah.

So, um, yeah, we had a boy, uh, who last year at the Catholic High meet ran over 19 minutes, and a year later, uh, he ran 16:15.

Uh, so a three-minute drop on a super fly course, uh, over a one-year period is pretty exciting.

And I just – I really enjoy him and I'm very appreciative of him.

We were talking a little bit about Catholic High, about when he was – when his son Stephen was a quarterback at Catholic High, how he put his office on – there's a little high-rise across the street from Catholic High, and he took the top floor because they wouldn't let him come watch practice.

And so he could see down into the practice field.

And he said – and he goes, you know what's worse, Joey? He goes, I had two secretaries, and they were knowledgeable about – I made them knowledgeable about quarterback play and stuff.

Mm-hmm.

And then now he's starting, and now he's playing against Catholic High, and he's actually playing pretty good.

Wow.

Then I'm like, "Okay.

Huntington beats Bird 33-28.

Catholic High beats Liberty 55-0.

Jesuit gets a 24-7 win against Chalmette.

Mandeville gets a 24-9 win against Covington.

There are no bad options at running back right now for LSU, giving everything Shea just said.

But I'll tell you, and I am biased about Jaden Miles at Catholic High, that kid's a stud.

Would love to keep him in Baton Rouge.

He's currently committed to Florida State.
