So as you say, where this is employer and employee, that's very straightforward.

There were a coup- a few cases where the relationship was not strai- so straightforward, notably the case of various claimants in Catholic Child Welfare Society in 2012, which is known as the Christian Brothers case.

And in that case it concerned a order of monks or religious order who were accused of abuse of, um, children in their care.

And so it was held that that relationship was akin to employment because the brothers were bound to the institute, not by contract, but by their vows and they entered into deeds under which they were obliged to transfer all their earnings to the institute.
