Oh, this one is a ride.

Claire North, as many of you know from The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August, is an absolute master at weaponizing the mechanics of time.

She is.

But she isn't just playing with a single life looping over and over here.

But the universe always notices.

Always.

I'm just saying it was very funny to read.

It's very funny to read Claire North doing Slow Gods this year or last year whenever we read it.

And I was like, this is the most culture novel book I've ever read.

Not because it was just because it had minds that were incalculably bigger than everybody else and being able to do this.

And all of the stuff that has to happen now, we're going to have a dramatic action sequence.

Someone's got to go down to a planet and they've got to get off the planet again before the wave of radiation comes and sweeps over the solar system and kills it.

And I'm like, you're just doing like, I appreciate it, Claire North.

You literally do.

You know this series is fucking tremendous when Hickman's given more depth to characters like fucking Goldballs, right? Like, it's so fucking good.

Now, this book is actually on a few sus lists because people like that douche Rob Liefeld have alleged that this is plagiarism because of how Moira's retcons are similar to the book The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North, which is a sci-fi book of people being reborn and reincarnated in their past bodies with their memories and everything like that.

Hickman even said that this book is a favorite of his, and he even says that he didn't steal her idea and that giving Moira the power of reincarnation is just a way to retcon her character.

And I agree with him because reincarnation in sci-fi has been going on forever.

I'm thinking of two time loop stories that I read that came out, both of them maybe 10 to 15 years ago.

So Life After Life by Kate Atkinson, and then also the first 13 lives of Henry August, I think, by Claire North.

And both of those, the main character... gets born and tries to accomplish something and then dies and they start over.
