Catherine Mannix

When we read about tragic murders, suicide, death, it's usually very distant, but not today.

The former retired deputy chief slain with her daughter in a murder-suicide, let me tell you something, it's hitting every single one of us.

I was particularly affected when I heard the story told by my dear friend Richard Correa.

I've known Richard Correa for years, a proud graduate of George Washington High School, former head of the Richmond Station here in San Francisco.

By the time she retired in 2021, she was a highly respected deputy chief.

We know that she was killed by her husband and the other victim,

their daughter.

I must tell you, the daughter, only 24 years old, Catherine Mannix.
