So if the golf club didn't get its $6 million windfall because of wide community reach, then how did it get funded? How material is the fact that 200 meters from the golf club is a $3 million home still owned by the Prime Minister? Now, this is a legitimate question to ask.

The Prime Minister has tried very hard to say that allocating this money was not his decision, that it was his close friend and factional ally, Catherine King, who was in charge.

The decision-maker is the Minister for Infrastructure.

She might have rubber-stamped the decision, but it was the Prime Minister who made it, and here's the Prime Minister's press release from that time that proves it.

Just him, nothing at all here to do with Catherine King.

And what about this Facebook post from July 29? From local Inner West Council Mayor Darcy Byrne, himself a longtime factional mate of Albanese, the man most likely to succeed him in the seat when the Prime Minister retires, where he says, "The future of the Marrickville Golf Club has been secured with a $6 million investment towards its upgrade from the federal government." Remember, that's a full two months before King even established her little process.

So the very airline that she's tasked with regulating, she's in receipt of a massive freebie worth potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars.

Now, would you believe both sides of politics have come out and supported her? Housing Minister Claire O'Neill said, oh, well, Qantas gives these lifetime platinum status to people who are the most frequent flyers in the country.

And Liberal Senator Michaelia Cash from WA said, well, federal politicians do do a lot of flying.

Two points here.

One, no one in the political class wants to criticise Catherine King because they've all got their snouts in the trough.

They all want to get lifetime platinum status with Qantas as well.
