Cathedral of St. Michael and St. Gudula

In reading from the accounts, on July 1st, 1523, the two were arrayed in full ecclesiastical regalia of their order and led in a procession.

The procession terminated at the square in front of the Brussels Cathedral, where pyres stood prepared.

The friars were then ceremonially degraded, their monastic garb replaced with plain robes.

Both were given one last chance to recant.
