Catching Fire

And I'm Dorinda.

And we are talking about Catching Fire, Chapter 25 today.

So Katniss is debating on how long they can keep up this alliance, and so she talks to Peeta, and they decide to stick around until Brutus and Anabaria are dead.

Then Beattie comes up with a plan.

Coming in at number three, The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins.

The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay.

This trilogy didn't just participate in the YA dystopian trend.

It defined the entire market for nearly a decade.

Let's hear it.

So obviously it started with Suzanne Collins' original three-part book series, The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay.

Right.

Which became four massive films because, as we remember, they split Mockingjay into two parts released a year apart.

Right.

She is playing a younger version of a character named Wiress.

Now, if you remember the original films, Wiress was played in Catching Fire by the brilliant Amanda Plummer.

Which is an incredibly specific, difficult performance to follow.

Not really a shocker.

So yeah, I read two five-star reads back to back, and now [laughs] I mean, I'm almost done with Catching Fire.

That will be an easy five-star read for me, so I'm like, "Hmm, what do I read next?" Um, I don't know.

I gotta, like, read some fantasy books that are, like, they're literally, like, sitting on my nightstand like, "Read me, read me"

I'm not sure if this is just Suzanne Collins' choice.

But I'm going to show you, I'm going to read you a few paragraphs from Catching Fire, which is the Hunger Games book two in the series.

Okay, so just bear with me.

I'm going to read probably...

I don't know, page and a half or so, maybe a page, and then I'll skip forward and include a few more lines.

But if you want to see the full example of either of these, obviously you can go check out the opening pages.

You can look at The Exquisite Torment of Loving Your Enemy or Catching Fire.

Okay, so here's how The Catching Fire opens, which is book two of the series.
