If the rhetoric of this move is anticipatory, how about the logic of this move? The structural logic of this move, this kicking of the castrative can down the road, is deferral, where the modality of castration remains ever possible, never actual, and written as such.

This part I believe is crucial.

It's the written pursuit of castration that functions as a provisional form of castration.
