Yeah.
Mike MinottiHOST
60:29
I did when we had the Dracula X Chronicles or whatever on PSP.
Mike MinottiHOST
60:33
Also very early, kind of like this game only came out in Japan.
Mike MinottiHOST
60:37
This was kind of like one of the big Japan exclusives that we all look at because it just looks so freaking slick and cool.
Gen MoonenHOST
6:35
But the fact of the matter is, a fun device is a fun device, and they released an update to Final Fantasy Tactics on it.
Gen MoonenHOST
6:43
So, yeah, when I was in college, I want to say this was around 2007, 2008, I got a PSP off a friend that was getting rid of theirs, and the only two games that I remember playing a lot of were Final Fantasy Tactics War of the Lions and the Dracula X Chronicles, Castlevania, which...
Gen MoonenHOST
7:04
This, again, shows how much the PS1 is just a piece of my DNA here.
Gen MoonenHOST
7:09
But the PSP was such a cool device, and we'll get into this more as we talk about it, for bringing some of those older titles forward.

7 MINS LATER

Gen MoonenHOST
13:58
Yeah.
Gen MoonenHOST
13:59
The PSP gave you much, a lot, just about everything was how much can we put in here? We had the Disgaea games coming out on the PSP, which were absolutely, hey, do you want to spend thousands of hours on a single game? Let's throw some exploding hell penguins.
Gen MoonenHOST
14:21
I played the Dracula X Chronicles.
Gen MoonenHOST
14:23
Yeah, I played it because I wanted to play Dracula X, but also because you could unlock Symphony of the Night within it.
AnthonyHOST
73:07
It was on the
KenHOST
73:07
PSP too, right? Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles? Well, that's
AnthonyHOST
73:12
Dracula X Chronicles, which has the Symphony of the Night In it, but I'm talking Castlevania Chronicles Which is a remake of 1
KenHOST
73:20
Yes, Castlevania Chronicles, yes Or you could get the Super Nintendo Is the Super Nintendo version of Rondo of Blood in that collection? I can't remember
AnthonyHOST
73:26
No, that is in the So the Dracula X is in the GBA or DS collection
Andy SpiteriHOST
6:11
Of these super smash bros, like.
Doominal CrossingHOST
6:13
Yeah, yeah, played NGS1, damn this game rules, and then I, um, and then I played the remake of Rondo of Blood, um, Dracula X Chronicles, um, for the PSP, and I was like, "Damn, this game is awesome."
Andy SpiteriHOST
6:26
Mm.
Doominal CrossingHOST
6:26
Um, and it just so happens that Dr- um, Dracula X Chronicles: Rondo of Blood, uh, takes place directly before Symphony of the Night, and you don't really need to play it to understand what's going on.
Doominal CrossingHOST
6:36
Like, it gives you, like, enough details to kinda go off regardless, but it's just kinda-
Andy SpiteriHOST
6:40
Yeah
JoePANELIST
87:26
He just added another one that you're going to want to see.
JoePANELIST
87:32
Speaking of Castlevania and preservation, should a remake preserve as much of the visual and audio identity of the original game or change them to make them more in line with the rest of the franchise? For example, Dracula X Chronicle using Ayami Kojima's designs instead of the original Rondo's designs so that the game looks more in line with Symphony.
JoePANELIST
87:54
um no that's interesting to speculate on sure
David McBurneyHOST
87:57
i mean if you're making a remake you're not trying to preserve the original you're trying to you're trying to make changes to it uh like dracula x chronicles gets gets by on the fact that it includes the original but yeah like i think that a remake should do whatever the hell you want because you're not trying to preserve the original like a re-release is how you're preserving the original
JoePANELIST
88:23
yeah and no and i i had mentioned that i you know playing the uncharted remasters and then i also was just playing alan wake remaster and what both games have in common is that the remasters like yeah they updated the graphics but they like those games i thought had kind of ugly character models to start with and ugly faces but the remaster makes it so much worse by trying to smooth everything out and that happens yeah so i think i told this joke already but um elena in uncharted she uh looks like megan kelly now
Mike AppsHOST
89:01
oh sorry
JacksonHOST
46:46
It's emulating a game that they're not selling to you.
JacksonHOST
46:49
What it is, is an emulation of the bonus modes contained within the Dracula X Chronicles, which is the 3D PSP Rondo of Blood remake, which included Rondo of Blood and Symphony of the Night ROMs on the PSP, using Sony's PSP emulator to play those two decks.
JacksonHOST
47:09
I'm so mad right
DiaGUEST
