And this is the oldest existing colonial building in South Africa.

And it carries a dark history of dungeons and torture.

This long history of suffering is directly tied to the castle's reputation as Africa's most haunted building.

The Castle of Good Hope has hundreds of documented sightings, many from soldiers and security guards.

The most famous include the government Pieter van Nuyt.

Um, they've unveiled a very ambitious plan to establish a s- uh, a state-of-the-art training and production hub in the heart of the Mother City.

Uh, the new hub located at the historic Mill House that's opposite the Castle of Good Hope is set to make a very lasting impact on South Africa's creative future.

It's backed by the Judith Neilson Foundation.

Uh, the ambitious project, uh, will nurture the next generation of performers and equip young South Africans with practical skills and career opportunities across performing arts, film, television, and live events.

That is good.

But for me, what makes it for me a bit, you know, uneasy, I'm not happy with this, is the fact that it is now at the Castle of Godot, all right? It is there in a space, a historical place.

It is a space where international visitors come to.

And you walk through all the different exhibitions that they have there.

The Trilingual Dictionary launched at the Castle of Good Hope in April brings SCARPS together with Afrikaans and English, creating a formal record of a language that millions have carried through speech.
