Castell Dinas Brân

There is a stone bridge over the Dee, old even then, and the water under it is fast and brown and full of light.

Above the village, on a bare cone of a hill, there is the ruin of a castle called Dinas Bran, a broken crown of gray stone against the sky.

Beyond that, a line of pale limestone cliffs, sheep on the slopes, smoke from the chimneys.

On the hill just above the village, there is a small two-story cottage of whitewashed stone at the top of a field with a brook running through the garden.

It sits at the bottom of a green bowl of hills.

But I don't remember ever seeing an announcement that it had happened.

Although I do remember back in my early days as a countryside ranger, once being Richard knows where this is, Dinas Bran above the old castle ruins.

So it's a really cool bit of castle ruins on top of a hill.

And we were sat having our lunch because we'd been working up there and some tourists came past and they were telling us with immense authority about this golden eagle that they had just seen.
