So the only thing I know Casper Kelly from is he did Too Many Cooks.

And for my first main review here is going to be Buddy from 2026.

This is directed by Casper Kelly, who co-wrote this with Jamie King.

This is starring Kristen Milioti, something like that.

And this is also starring Delaney Quinn and Topher Grace.

The set design effectively captures a fantastical yet off-kilter reality, complemented by strong cinematography and framing during the film's violent shifts, Whether Buddy is attacking others for being fought back against, the suit work brings the characters to life, while the nostalgic sound design and cheesy show songs fit perfectly.

Inclusion is a captivating horror film that brilliantly twists nostalgic children's television tropes into a claustrophobic and unsettling experience.

Casper Kelly successfully balances humor, absurd sci-fi elements, and genuine horror, supported with strong performances particularly from Miladi and Quinn, along with impressive set design.

Buddy starts murdering kids left and right, and Freddy, along with a couple of the other children, try to escape the show.

Now, I'll note that this is the feature film debut of Casper Kelly, who wrote and directed this.

If you don't know, Casper Kelly wrote and directed a short film that went viral back in 2014 called Too Many Cooks.

It aired on Adult Swim at like 2 in the morning and then became this big online sensation.

And in fact, I love Too Many Cooks.

It's got a great aesthetic.

The cinematography is fantastic.

And I'll say that Casper Kelly really rose to the occasion of making a feature film.

You know, the funny thing is the director, Casper Kelly, is actually most well-known for an adult swim show.

Yeah, I re-watched it.

I re-watched it, and it goes into horror.

that is a risk that I think oftentimes movies and televisions are averse to because they're like, well, what if the audience doesn't understand? Like, they do not have enough faith in their audience.

And it's good to hear that Casper Kelly has faith in the audience.

Now, only because I teased it earlier, I'll mention one other flick I saw.

From Casper Kelly, the creator of the viral short Too Many Cooks, comes your new favorite children's television program, Buddy.

And much like the short Too Many Cooks, Buddy starts out just like you're watching a nearly 20 minute long episode of this Barney-esque kid show.

A group of brightly colored clothed kids bring a stuffed orange toy unicorn to life to sing and solve problems via song and talk to various living trash cans, talking couches, and various other peewee's playhouse type cast.
