We're back today with Professor Casey Burgat, who's the director of the Legislative Affairs Program at the George Washington University and host of the Mastering the Room podcast, um, which explores the question of whether we can find common ground in our hyper-politicized world.

And that's the question that we wanna come back to in the second episode of this, of this interview, uh, by asking the question: How can politics help us find common ground, and, and how Congress can work better? Uh, and so having promised our listeners, uh, in our last episode that we would turn to the bright side of, of politics this time around, let me ask you, Casey, can you give us one or two recent examples of cases when Congress has worked well in ser- solving hard problems together? Uh, if so, what have been the keys to success?

Oh, boy.

They stood up and fought for something.

And if your fight is for democracy itself, I can think of no better legacy to leave behind in an instance, in a time where we need a lot more help.

Casey Burgat, thanks so much for your time.

This has been an incredibly stimulating conversation, and, uh, I'm really happy to have you as a guest on the America's Y Podcast.
