Cary Joji Fukunaga

This project initially went to David Kajanich.

He has attached his name and he has been attached at the hip to Luca G since this project, but he was developing it for a bit and then he was replaced by Cary Fukunaga.

Now, I don't think it is hyperbole to say that the first season of True Detective is a top five of best seasons of TV of all time.

And

And it's going to be, especially considering that Denny is going to be doing James Bond nets, which Nolan was very heavily rumored to do for a long time before he ended up doing Tenet, which is basically like his own version.

And ironically, also bringing it back to Danny Boyle, since Danny Boyle was attached to Direct No Time to Die for the longest time before he left the project and was replaced by Cary Fukunaga.

So whether that was for the better, who knows? Because I know that No Time to Die, it's a little bit of a 50-50 movie.

I liked it.

Oh

... 'cause he had written the s- version, uh, that Cary Fukunaga was gonna direct before he left the production.

Other directors that were considered to direct include Sean Carter, who's directed some films called Keep Watching and Awake, which I haven't heard of.

Never heard of.

Yeah, I'll say.

I'm still waiting for a buyer for Blood on Snow, the Cary Fukunaga movie with Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Benedict Cumberbatch.

I think it's like a Russian crime movie.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Benedict Cumberbatch, and it's from Cary Fukunaga.

You can't sell this movie?

What's going on? There

Franco Zeffirelli directed a version in 1996 with William Hurt and Charlotte Gainsbourg.

And then director Cary Fukunaga delivered an incredibly moody, stark, windswept version in 2011 starring Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender, which really played up the isolation of the Moors.

A beautiful adaptation.

But if we are going to talk about the Bronte sisters, we have to talk about the sibling who just went completely feral.
