Carter Burwell

Sam Rockwell, I think is definitely a contender for supporting.

And of course the usual suspects when it comes to a Martin McDonough picture, uh, screenplay picture, um, Carter Burwell, when it comes to score, but yeah, I was watching this film, and I was just thinking to myself, it's my favorite directed Martin McDonagh picture, but there's something about this film, as great as it is, that doesn't instantly like, blurted out to me, screenplay winner.

As well written as the film is.

I think it's probably one of my favorite CIA centered pictures that I've ever seen when it comes to government espionage and the reflection of a man who is towards the end of his life in terms of his old age in his 70s as John Malkovich has been involved with some of the most monumental moments of the CIA's history.

The disc

features a new 4K restoration from the original Camera Negative, new interviews with composer Carter Burwell, production designer David Brisbane and action director Robert Samuels, plus an archival audio commentary with director Foley and a few other archival bits as well.

I've not seen this one, Steve, but I'm a big fan of all those involved, particularly Chow Yun Fat.

it is it's charming a little bit of a tie into twilight the composer is carter burwell who did both twilight and breaking dawn part one he also he's the person who composed bella's lullaby the piano piece that is in the first film and carries throughout so that was kind of like oh hey carter burwell that's cool very interesting oh god what a fun movie this buffy was

Well, and two, we go from Kiefer Sutherland right in The Lost Boys to his dad.

So Donald Sutherland is in this one as Merrick, which I don't know.

I think what happened is he did write Bella's lullaby.

And then they went with Carter Burwell's version, which is the one in the final cut, but because she had recorded Rob, that's why they had some of his songs.

So he sings, there's like a song faintly in the background of the restaurant scene where they're talking about cat.

And then there's a song during the mirror flashback.

My brain shut down.

The music was by Carter Burwell this time around.

Well, I mean, obviously Carter Burwell, they're a great music collaborator.

I think this was his first work with the Coens that used original Burwell music.
