Carter Beck

I'm in on Aaron Walton, and I respect that ranking for sure.

I think that he's somebody that's certainly worth... talking about a draftee this year who I got to see a little bit down the stretch and that's Carter Beck of the Atlanta Braves where he was kind of a surprise first rounder I guess to some maybe but his stock really soared to in the year and he was tremendous he was a fun player to watch I got to see him with Augusta and Rom separate times.

But, man, he tore it up with Augusta, and then he was still pretty good with Rom.

I know you see a two or three batting average, and you might be a little discouraged, but, you know, basically a .353 clip in high A, had a homer, three doubles and a triple.

I'm very in on Carter Beck.

I think he's a great FYPD target.

And I think the numbers kind of back it as well, where he's got good juice.

He's got respectable contact.

I'd like how he broke down some of the tiers.

And then on the college hitter side, I like Carter Beck a lot.

Um, another guy, great athlete, big engine.

It's a smaller school.

I mean, Carter, Carter Beck and Caiden McCarthy, your second and third picks that you made in this past draft, they come in, uh, here at 16 and 17.

Luis Guanipa that I thought had a really good year.

Ethan Bagwell, I mean, we were talking about him for pitcher of the year for most of the season, before he got, uh, banged up a little early on and they decided to shut him down.

Will he be able to command them? We'll see next year.

He's someone that could easily, easily rise into the top, you know, 12 to 10 should he have a really strong 2027.

Carter Beck put together, I mean, we saw his hit tool absolutely play in minor league baseball.

We w- the biggest question was, and it's sim- very, very similar to Cody Miller when he was drafted and, you know, not having the best opponents in their college career, how would they respond to seeing, you know, um, better competition day in and day out? Carter Beck definitely showed us a lot more with his hit tool, and the consistency with his sw- hit tool that has, has made us confident enough to put him at 16.

Because there are...

I mean, we could go on forever here, but, like, Carter Beck we didn't talk about and I think is a really great play in an FYPD.

Some of the pitchers, Cade Townsend I like.

Taylor Rabe I like.

It's really fun to watch.

on the flip side of that how cool is that to be able to go and show those young kids even a going for example and say you can do that one day like you can be the next carter beck or you can be the next you know whoever the case may be um keaton lejean as another example like you've got these guys who can't you've made it this far you can do it too

yeah i think that's huge right like when you get to see some guys that come from a similar place that have been through the journey that you're hoping to get through um and see that it's possible i think that's a big part of it right you know it It's tough when you don't have those role models to look up to and they can be hard to find coming out of Saskatchewan in the baseball world.

But I think you're starting to see some of those, like starting to have some higher draft picks, a guy like Logan Hoffman and obviously Carter Beck this year.

And then Garrett Hawkins is knocking on the door.

And I think it's Ireland out of Regina is also knocking on the door.

In my head, I thought that we were going to be listed in more rankings as like a top 10-ish system.

by the end of this year and i think there's still a chance whenever people do like their off-season off-season you know farm system rankings and stuff like that but you know i i think it's far exceeded pretty much anything that anybody could imagine that it's done between every just all the prospects that I mean, he didn't even mention Carter Beck.

Just several other names that we've seen that have come through and just played really well.

And it's very refreshing to see that we go from, you know, and no offense, but guys like Jared Schuster getting drafted.
