Um, obviously he is, he's really opened up about how much he's loved doing, like, his DJ-ing and doing his other stuff, and I think he's finding maybe some other passions outside of the pool that he's really enjoying.

Um, I know you and I talked to Carson Foster a while ago, and he was talking, he was talking about how Shaine's just, like, the jokester, and how...

So I, I know that that group's probably gonna miss the, the antics.

Um, and obviously losing Shaine is huge for that pro- pro group.

Not this specifically though that would be a funny series right see see how long Ledecky can pull against a smaller weight or something like that uh but just in general reaching outside of the normal swimming audience because obviously this YouTube channel is not an audience full of competitive swim fans.

There's probably a lot of people who are familiar with the Olympics and Olympic swimming and will hop in and watch that you know the kind of general casual swim fan and you know Dressel is a very charismatic swimmer he's really able to get his personality across very just enjoyable to watch on screen he's really good at interviews and stuff like that so he's a good candidate for this to have you know just showing oh man this this swimmer seems pretty cool and you know if you're able to I think it's good for swimmers to get their face out there more especially not during an Olympic year to kind of build that general you know that that personal brand is good for them and then kind of trickles along and is good for the sport as a whole if you have more swimmers in the public eye you might slowly increase the stock of the sport as a whole that's just something I believe for a long time and this video is performing very well it's currently sitting at 1.9 million views a little less than a week of being uploaded that is a slightly inflated number because of YouTube monkeying with view counts but still relative to other things on the channel it is a high performer it's also an incredible thumbnail if you go check it out we're gonna hop back on over to Japan and for the second week in a row I need to talk about Tomoyuki Matsushita because last week we talked about how he dropped a very fast 405 83 in the 400 IM which made him the fourth fastest performer of all time in that discipline he also had a new personal best after that in the 200 IM now isn't as comparatively impressive as his 400 IM but it's still very quick he dropped a 155 51 he's now the 14th fastest performer of all time and he is the second fastest Japanese swimmer ever his old PB was a 155 60 so just like in the 400 IM he has been on a nice improvement curve and the 200 IM is increasingly getting very very stacked you know we have obviously Leon Marchand last year set the world record in the event Hubert Koch had that 154 24 I already talked about you know Hugo Gonzalez was a 154 44 right behind him Shane Casas has been incredibly quick Carson Foster's always been around Tomoyuki Matsushita is now going and is trying to insert himself into this conversation very very interesting things happening and I think if you can get a stacked field in a 200 IM that could be a very fun race to watch I think the 200 IM has the potential to be one of the most fun races to watch if you have a deep enough field and you have enough I I am a sucker for lead changes, right? And I think the 200 IM is maybe one of the best events for that outside of a relay.

But I think that always makes for when you don't have no idea who's going to win.

We have a bunch of swimmers that are close in speed.

I mean, I know most, if not all, of the Americans are not going.

Carson Foster's going.

But I think most of the other Americans we've talked to are not doing World Cup but are doing World... or, like, World Trials, I guess.

Like, we did so much.

Like, I don't know if y'all watch Carson Foster's YouTube channel, um, but he posted a video about, like, how many yards we did all season, and he said 2 million something.

Like, that's so many.

That is so much swimming, um, just for us to, I feel like, really feel like we fell short.
