Carry-On

I've seen him in a couple of Netflix things now.

Carry On with Jason Bateman, all set in an airport and on a plane.

It's dumb fun, but he's, you know, very good.

I think he's quite good at humour, isn't he? He's obviously, he's got a pretty face, but he is more than that, I think.

Sure.

Was there a moment where you knew that a film like that would connect with audiences? 'Cause that came out right at the holiday time, and I feel like it really blew up.

So I think that when you do a movie like that, you know that it's gonna rattle some cages, and you say...

Uh, no, no, Carry On.

And it benefited from that.

It was a fun throwback, '80s style Die Hard movie.

And, uh, and again, my favorite projects, ensembles where there's a bunch of people in it, and everybody, Dean Norris, everybody's got their moments, and those are the, to me, the best type of films.

Could you tell that in, just by reading the script?

Despite it being an indie and what it is, like, let's make it as good as it can be.

You know? And then I'm not too sure about the releases for Psyche and Play Dead, but Play Dead, which we filmed here in Melbourne at Docklands Studio, um, which was an insane filming experience, absolutely awesome, um, because it was shot like a theater piece.

Shot in, like, in, in sequence with incredible effects and a guy who specializes in drama and action in one location.
