Carry On Camping

I don't know what it is that they think these people are doing.

It's like Carry On Camping does the same thing.

It basically pits all the Carry On characters against some young people and it's just excruciating to watch Sid James lusting after some teenage girls.

It just feels so youthful.

Say, ask Chuck CPT, can you make it sound like young people, please? Yeah.

It reminds me of the hippies from Carry On Camping.

Yeah, it's a lot of Carry On, actually.

The hippies in Carry On Camping, and also there's elements of this scene that reminded me, actually, of Carry On Loving, particularly the bit under the table.

Under the table, particularly, yeah.

Yeah, and are you done yet? And you can just imagine, like, yeah, Richard Callaghan, and, you know, yeah, like, it's all...

Like, this, this sort of like working men's clubs and I was into, um, uh, Carry- I don't know if you're familiar with the Carry On films, but that was a group of, uh, that was a kind of group of guys who made these kind of cheap comedy films that were sh- shown a lot on TV.

Um, and there, there's one of them, I think it's Carry On Camping, where, you know, this is the film made in 1967, where all of these old guys, you know, guys who'd actually fought in the Second World War, uh, and all these characters that people were used to seeing in these movies, they, um, they kind of come upon like a, like a, like a ra- like a hippie rave that's going on.

All these young people are wearing their short skirts and they're doing their far-out dancing, and there's all these guys in their tweed jackets and their ...

It's like the old Eng- It's like the clash of worlds.

Good old Carry On films.

You know, the, you know, Carry On, Carry On Camping was probably one of the most famous, wasn't it? But there were, there was a huge load of, of Carry On films.

And you think, um, of all the people, you know, in recent years or, or recent memory that have been, um, hauled over the coals, uh, for doing things they shouldn't, I mean, the prime example being Jimmy Savile.

Um, you know, what, what w- what would have happened to Sid James? I mean- [laughs]
