I'm Dusty Weiss, a former BBBS mentor, and today we are talking to a group of four big sisters from Carroll University.

Ellie, Paige, Gabby, and Kirsten are all members of the Carroll BBBS Affiliated Campus Club.

They're joining us today to talk about how they're promoting the BBBS mission on campus.

This is Little Big Chats, the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metro Milwaukee podcast.

Listen and learn how Big Brothers Big Sisters is changing lives.

And we're talking today with Ellie, Paige, Gabby, and Kirsten, all members of the Carroll University BBBS campus organization.

Guys, moving on as we continue to talk about the matches that you've been in, I want to hear about something that you're looking forward to in this upcoming school year that just kicked off this month.

But we have so many, um, programs coming up that, uh, we're really, really excited about.

Um, on October 6th, uh, we are gonna host a program at Carroll University.

It's called The Past Is Not Past.

Um, and it's a conversation between, um, Dr. Kimberly Redding, a professor there, um, and then, uh, Allison Hayden, the director of Hillel Academy.

And, um, our partners have programs as well.

So there are lots of programs at the library, but there's also a program at the Civic Theater.

There's a program at Carroll University, Martha Merrill's Books Presents.

Um, this year we worked with North Pillar Brewing Company, and they, uh, we worked with them to create a collaborative beer sort of to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Waukesha Reads, but also the 130th anniversary of the library.

The other one is Delaney Pruitt.

She played at Carroll university, which is, about 25 minutes outside of Milwaukee.

And she's kind of learning her way.

Unbelievable player and wants to be a coach and is currently coaching in high school.

She brought him from war-torn Moldova to the United States so he could grow up in a safe home with a loving family.

She was pursuing a business degree at Carroll University and working hard towards her future.

Her diploma and graduation gown arrived in the mail after her death.

They were found unopened in her home.

I think of Commander Dan Shanauer, who died at the Pentagon, who was a colleague of mine.

We went to college together at Carroll College in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

I think of my friend James Foley, who died as a victim of ISIS in Syria in 2012.

He had been a hostage in Libya.
