Caroline Kepnes

That's crazy.

But like the You series, Caroline Kepnes, she wrote You, and then it became-

Oh

... and then she wrote the sequel, and then the show blew up on Netflix.

Yep.

Honorable mention Caroline Kepnes, who goes on to be a staff writer on Seventh Heaven and The Secret Life of the American Teenager, and she wrote the novels that become the series You.

And there's a YouTube interview where she talks about getting this gig.

Mm-hmm.

And it's not just the classic detectives doing this with their history.

The sources mention Caroline Kepnes doing something very similar, but with a villain.

Uh, yes.

She released You First, which is a prequel to the highly successful Joe Goldberg novels, the ones that became the massive Netflix series You.
