Carolina Royal Ravens

This isn't Space Station's first attempt at entering the league this way.

The organization previously pursued a takeover of the Carolina Royal Raven spot, but ultimately came up short.

Sources indicate this deal is considerably further along than that prior attempt.

Separately, sources tell us Luminosity also expressed interest in the Misfits bot, but was turned down reportedly due to their ties to Surge and recent history with former ownership.

A lot to take in there.

Before we continue, obviously, Space Station has previously shown interest.

Like Ronnie said, they tried to buy the Carolina Royal Raven spot.

There were rumors that they might have been interested in the Vancouver Surges spot as well, but... that the surge is asking price.

Scrap remained on the Toronto Ultra.

Gwyn remained on the Carolina Royal Ravens.

And Rancor remained on the Miami Heretics last season.

So, yeah, it would be weird.

So yeah, this sucks.

This absolutely blows because we've talked up the Heretics and it's been great to have somebody that is committed to a different, uh, approach that is actually successful because if, you know, and we talked about last year with the Vegas Falcons, then, uh, if they were able to be competitive with an all Saudi roster, I would say that's great because you're expanding the reach of call of duty.

And if you can be, you know, uh, get to champs and you can be competitive, uh, and grow the the esport in the middle east and you can like show that there's a different path than just picking up like who who's the challengers player of the month basically or like who's the xcdl pro that like we're gonna sign for this year i think that's great and that's what the heretics have done now it seems like it's kind of over you know that uh the heretics might be going the way of carolina royal ravens which is an awful awful fate For any CDL team.

What do you think about this? Because this is obviously not exactly what we're expecting.

Again, I just said not that long ago that I'd be kind of surprised if he was a starter on a CDL team at the beginning of the season.

Maybe the Royal Ravens or something or whatever Boston team is coming in.

Maybe they... feel like, you know, he has a lot of experience, obviously like we could put him in the starting lineup and he's like, um, you know, calming factor for, for some of our younger guys, but it's not been good.

Like, you know, I think we have to be really honest about that.

So that part about productive dialogue with CDL and that the league will be in a better place with MW4 and that the imbalance among some of the teams was structural more than anything.

By structure, I assume being willing to spend money would probably be some part of that structure because it seemed like at least for most of the bottom quarter of the league, that seemed to be a pretty big structural issue for them, specifically Cloud9, Carolina Royal Ravens.

I don't think that Vancouver was really shelling out a ton of money there.

uh last season that seems to be kind of changing uh this coming season but what do you think that is necessarily about because toronto wasn't one of those teams i would say like of course they did sell joe deceives toward the end of the season uh he was reportedly going to hit free agency this offseason so it was kind of a a pred situation that you know actually came to fruition they were able to kind of, um, you get something back, get some money back for Joe before he signed.

You don't want that disparity in your league because it doesn't make for a good product.

And we have that problem here in the CDL.

I'm sure the Falcons, FaZe, Optic, LAT, I'm sure those teams are spending a ton of money in comparison to Cloud9 New York and the Carolina Royal Ravens.

And I would assume the Vancouver Surge this past season, maybe it'll be different this coming season.
