Carnet de Passages en Douane

When we arri- rived in, uh, Alexandria, Egypt, we had all intentions of wintering over in Morocco, driving across the, the, uh, North African literal through Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, and then into Morocco, and, uh, spending the winter there, and then driving back up to, uh, Europe via the, uh, the Strait of Gibraltar and, uh, possibly resuming that, those parts of Europe that we hadn't seen already, and then probably, uh, heading, uh, home after selling the Kombi bus.

We were off the cruise liner that we had, uh, traveled around the, uh, Mediterranean literal, and we were in a campground, had all the visas and, uh, the Carnet de Passages for the, uh, for the vehicle.

And, uh, lo and behold, turned on the radio and Muammar Gaddafi and his merry men had, uh, staged a coup in Libya and had closed the border for the foreseeable future.

So that marked paid to, uh, that journey.
