And the connection to, uh, the book burning in Nazi Germany.

And I've seen it in, um, Carlo Rovelli's book, and in another couple of articles online, and people were very keen on, like, this is what, what was happening.

Like, one side of the Atlantic, there was this discovery.

On the other side, they were burning, uh, Einstein, uh, theory of general relativity.

So Carlo Rovelli is one of the smartest people I know.

And he's a theoretical physicist.

He's written a ton of great books.

It was about putting the need to know things down.

And it's really fascinating how he came to that conclusion, and I agree with him.

So here's Carlo Rovelli.

So Carlo, I'm going to try to summarize your very beautiful book in one sentence, and then I have questions about that sentence.

And yet all of this has turned out to be false.

It's just an approximation.

And science is seeing beyond it.

We're talking to Carlo Rovelli, who's director of the Quantum Gravity Group at the Centre of Physique Théorétique at Aix-Marseille University.

He's also author of The Order of Time.

Before there was what we call science, there was a term called natural philosophy, dating back to Aristotle, that explained basically the same principles we call science today: nature, physics, chemistry, biology, astronomy.

And I'm thinking about this now because my next guest, physicist and author Carlo Rovelli, has a new book called On the Equality of All Things: Lessons on Physics and Philosophy, and there's that connection once again.

And while it's a small book, there's a lot in there, from quantum physics to the nature of time, and I'm glad to have Carlo with me again.

And he kind of introduced me to this idea, which I hadn't heard before.

And Willis recently did something highly unorthodox.

He read Carlo Rovelli's quantum physics book, Helgoland.

And Rovelli is, I mean, he's a massive name in physics.

Huge name.
