Carla Esparza

And when you have those, and that's not the first fight.

I mean, when Rose Namajunas and Carla Esparza fought the third time, or the second time, when Carla beat her, bro, wasn't it in Arizona? It was such a bad fight.

And I was like, bro, I was like, one of these women are going to be very upset at the decision, but how can you be whenever no one did anything? Mm-hmm.

It's like that's that's generally the approach I take when it comes to those types of fights.

I, I wish fighters just didn't watch the preview shows, but I've come to realize that they do.

Carla Esparza shit down my throat one time 'cause I called her out on a podcast 10 years ago.

What does that tell you? It tells you that, like, some of them do watch the shows.

Yeah.

Uh, I can do it when I'm 50 years old, I can do it when I'm 60 years old, but these kids are not gonna wanna jump in bed and s- yell, "Daddy, Daddy," and spend time with me forever.

So it's just, like, finding that fine balance of family life and business and, you know, a zillion things going on.

So, like, no, I'm not looking to fight with Helwani anymore, [laughs] and I'm not looking to shit down Carla Esparza's throat 'cause she did it to me.

But yeah, she was a world champion.

And on fight week, what would you say Jena Bishop is like? I'll give you an example.

Remember Carla Esparza, who used to fight in the UFC? She would hand her phone away with seven days ago and says, I don't want to hear from anyone.

And so if you had to talk to her, and that included her family, immediate family, she just wanted zero distractions, focus on the fight.

And then there's other people that are smiling, doing every interview they can.

Yeah

... not Nicco Montano or, um, [smacks lips] who was the cookie monster? Carla Esparza.

Right.

She was.
