Carissa Orlando

Something in the Walls by Daisy Pierce, a fun one.

The September House by Carissa Orlando.

If that one has been chilling on your TBR, pick it up.

I can't believe how long I waited to read it.

Do you want to go first? Sure.

I will start with The September House by Carissa Orlando, which was published in 2023.

This is a haunted house book, and I do mean seriously haunted.

By more than just ghosts.

September House as well.

Carissa Orlando could fit in there like a little bit gothic, a little bit camp.

Then, of course, an absolute favorite read of 2025 was Victorian Psycho by Virginia Fito.

And at the time that you're watching this, there was just a film adaptation of it, which I it's not out yet and I can't wait to see it.

The Women in the Walls by Amy Lukaviks, I think is how you say her name.

And then The September House by Carissa Orlando, which is a book that I recommend all the time.

The main character is an older woman who has finally been able to purchase her dream house, which is this big, grand Victorian farmhouse.

And it is about a woman who lives in a old home who knows all the ghosts, and the way she describes them, she'll be like, "Oh, there's little, um, Edie again, with her drawn mouth and her eyes aga- " And it's spooky, but she's kind of funny.

I high-

Uh, I think that that's all to the better.

Um, I think probably one of the best examples of cozy horror I can think of off the top of my head that's currently out is, uh, The September House, which is by Carissa Orlando.

Um, 'cause that, that absolutely straddles that line very nicely.

Yeah.
