Mark FrancisHOST

Why would you invite someone to your wedding you don't know? I think it was because Harry and Meghan were already planning Megxit back in 2018 and looking for celebs to ingratiate themselves too.

ChaseHOST
60:18
yeah i don't know why okay sort of the title of the movie
JacobHOST
60:20
well yeah but i don't know if that was like a different like i don't know if that's actually what it's called but yeah i think it is um she says something about like them being hippies or whatever and then it's like you know you meet her parents later or you get more backstory on them and they're talking about like burning man and like you know kind of pretty like stereotypical hippie like behaviors i guess or like events um but yeah um what was i oh i was gonna say the cast that carrie mulligan played the villain in this something i i realized i really enjoy or something that's just like a fun thing is going into an animated movie not knowing who the voice actors are and then sometimes trying to like find out along the way who they are but not knowing all of them and then at the end you watch the credits and you see who everyone is yeah and um Like, really good.
JacobHOST
61:05
Jacob Tremblay was Curtis.

5:15
You can't pass through.
Mike DHOST
51:03
And then I had this other dilemma of one of the characters in Wildwood is very attractive.
Mike DHOST
51:07
Alexandra, I had to remind myself she's not a real human, even though she is voiced by Carey Mulligan.
Mike DHOST
51:12
And I was like, man, they made that character way too attractive.
Mike DHOST
51:16
This is not the first time I found myself attracted to an animated character.
Peyton BuetowHOST
56:49

57:13

Dave MartinsonHOST
23:08
There's just so many awesome dynamite sequences in this movie, and I was happy to see some familiar stuff.
Dave MartinsonHOST
23:13
you know influence wise you can definitely point to narnia james cameron's avatar there's some familiar reference points for sure but because the world is so gorgeously rendered it's hard to get too upset you know you're in such good hands when you see that first chase through the woods to escape the coyotes like the way the movie communicates the motion and the pace of people running was just really breathtaking we eventually take to the sky you know on the flight with the golden eagle and i thought that was incredible as well you get that big final battle which is massive and obviously does have some cgi in it as well the entering the mansion sequence and seeing all the different characters human and animal like interacting and seeing all the papers fly around like there's just some amazingly rendered sequences and yeah it's just a blast There's a lot of big actors in the voice cast, but I think Carey Mulligan as the main villain definitely has the most to offer.
Dave MartinsonHOST
24:04
I also want to shout out Jacob Tremblay, now a young adult, voicing Curtis, Prue's somewhat friend who gets absconded into the woods alongside her.
Dave MartinsonHOST
24:12
I loved Curtis as a supporting character.

Peyton Elizabeth Lee is Prue, Carrie Mulligan is the Dowager governess.

But the reviews from the release have noted it has a very dark tone, and the movie actually opens with an ominous prologue that isn't quite the same as the book's opening.

If we connect this to the bigger picture, how Laika approached this really highlights the critical importance of form in storytelling.

And then when I heard Mahershala Ali's voice, I recognized I know that voice, but I couldn't come up with his name.
