Carer's allowance

I mean, this is something I'd not thought about for a while.

Our first email is from Doug and Doug writes, is Andy Burnham going to scrap the bedroom tax and will the carer's allowance be raised? So remind everyone what the so-called bedroom tax was.

Oh man, I hoped you weren't going to ask me that.

But Doug has a

second question, right? Yes.

Will the Carer's Allowance be raised? And this is a fascinating one because a lot of the stuff about Carer's Allowance, a lot of the coverage has been for people being forced to repay it because they've accidentally worked more than they should have and the kind of incredibly Byzantine system which makes it difficult for people.

But there's also, you know, many carers, I think most carers would agree that the allowance itself is too low.
