John is...

Well, he's recently retired as a senior vice president of CardWorks, CardWorks being a consumer credit originator and servicer.

Uh, he spent many, many years at CardWorks, but John started his career at, on Wall Street, uh, uh, in the 1980s, and has seen a lot over those years, and shares with us in our discussion today a lot of instructive anecdotes, um, starting with one of the first, if not the first, timeshare securitization.

He also shares with us his hand in architecting an innovation, a big innovation, in, uh, ABCP world, meaning, uh, e-extendable ABC programs.

Now, sadly, a vestige of the past, a, a victim, you might say, of the great financial crisis.

Even though, as John points out, no one lost a dime, at least not, not on his extendable ABCP program.

Um, he also shares with us his, uh, role in the decision-making process at CardWorks a, as to whether or not to, uh, rent a, a bank charter or to acquire their own bank charter.

This is a decision that many fintechs today in, in recent years have wrestled with themselves.
