Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure

I mean, we did it before.

We didn't worry about it when it was the Ewok Adventure movies.

They were just having to be TV movies.

And that tour of Andor was a lot of fun, actually.

We went up to Northern California and visited all of the... filming locations for Caravan of Courage and Battle for Endor.

And that was quite exciting.

I met a lot of friends there in person, in real life.

We're here this week because we're taking a break from the main continuity while we wait for Ahsoka Season 2 to come out.

So with this time, we're going to talk about some forgotten... television movie maybe never known this yeah i don't know we're gonna be talking about 1984's board of the rings oh sorry caravan of courage the ewok adventure sorry caravan of boredom dude this whole middle segment of this where they're just walking through the woods and gathering people that's when i started calling it board of the rings and i was watching it alone and i said it out loud and i laughed Yeah,

I also watched Alone and like when they're fighting the spiders, I'm like, this is the worst version of Lord of the Rings I've ever seen.

I mean, the spider is pretty good if you hired like your second grade niece to make it.

Yeah.

But, hey, it's okay.

Yes, this is 1984's Caravan of Courage or the Ewok Adventure or the Ewok Adventure colon Caravan of Courage or et cetera, et cetera.

Directed by John Cordy, who I looked through his stuff and I was like, well, he directed 12 episodes of Sesame Street.

There have been the occasional slip ups.

TV's The Ewok Adventure and it's so bad it's really bad sequel Ewok's The Battle for Endor spring to mind like Tinky Winky in a broken blender.

Hey, no one's perfect, so it pains me to say that October Sky, the true story of Homer Hickman, a Colwood, West Virginia kid with a dream, is ploddingly earthbound.

He concludes, there's hope, heroism, and Dern is a dying schoolmarm, but October Sky falls flat, despite its rich tone and some startling cinematography by Fred Murphy.

But either way, it was banned very early on because it has some not great racial depictions and maybe some parallels to Pearl Harbor.

And then also coming up later this week on Han Took Shots First, which is available right here on this feed, we're taking a break from all of our main stuff, and we're talking about Caravan of Courage, the Ewoks adventure.

The little girl from Caravan of Courage turned, I think it was like 68 today or 69? Did she go up?

But not the rest of her family.

They died in the sequel for opening minutes.

So, Tom, the name of it is Yub Nub, the Forgotten Ewok Adventures.

And it's based on Caravan of Courage, who came out in 1984, and Ewok's Battle for Endor in 1985.

I guess my first question, why? What drew you to want to do this?

That's a very good question, why.

Clone Wars is lower with an 18% Rotten Tomatoes score, and Ewok Battle of Endor, even though it only has like 33 reviews, is 64%.

What? I haven't watched Battle of Endor, though, so maybe it's way better than the Ewok Adventure, the other one.

I'm sure it's

way better.

It can't be way worse.

We should review that, because that was one of our early on ones, so we should do that as our five-year anniversary deal next spring.

Do what? Review Ewok Adventures, or the second one.

Another crazy one.

Actually, yeah.

You know what? We have not seen all the movies because we still have Ewok's Caravan of Courage.

They made two Ewok movies in the late 80s after Return of the Jedi came out, trying to capitalize on Star Wars fever.
