I know my first question, and I know this is like so left field maybe, but my first thought was, what happens when you're on your period? Like, how do you keep that a secret? Just stuff your pants as best as you can? I guess you could keep it a secret, but it would suck, you know? Either way, Anne, or Andy, was like a, a valuable member of the crew, and this was allegedly proven in 1720 when Jack's ship raids another ship and takes some of the crew hostage.

Now, the next part of Anne's story is mostly based on a book by Captain Charles Johnson called A General History of the Pyrates, but he didn't know them personally.

So, like, many of the stories are based on just pirate legend, I guess.

But here's what allegedly went down.

So the format for this is I am going through the book A General History of the Robberies and Murders of the Most Notorious Pirates, or simply known as A General History of Pirates now, by Captain Charles Johnson, and we're going chapter by chapter and covering each of the... 'Cause each chapter in those books is a different pirate captain.

We're going over a brief history of that captain, showing their flag if they had one, and then talking about the hauntings of those pirates if there were any hauntings associated with that particular pirate.

So if you go back to part one, you'll hear about Blackbeard, you'll hear about Charles Vane, Jack Rackham, Anne Bonny, Mary Read.

Wow.

There are conflicting reports on the circumstances of Low's death.

Captain Charles Johnson, in a history of, A General History of the Pirates, stated that Low and the Fancy, which was his boat, were last sighted near the Canaries and Guinea.

However, at the time of his 1724 book, no further reports had surfaced.

Yeah, exactly.

It was written by this guy, Captain Charles Johnson, and it was called A General History of the Pyrates.

And I read through the sections you highlighted, and let me tell you, whoever this Johnson guy was, he was basically operating like a modern reality TV producer.

Oh, absolutely.

Because as a reader today, I mean, it's incredibly entertaining, but wait.

If we have no actual records of her early life- How can historians be so overwhelmingly sure that Charles Johnson just made all of this up?

That's a good question.

In the queue for Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure, Blackbeard's wanted poster can be seen amongst those for Jack Sparrow, Barbossa, and Davy Jones within Fort Snobbish.

The illustration of him in the poster is made to resemble his historic woodcut inking from Captain Charles Johnson's A General History of the Pyrates.

Blackbeard is the main antagonist of the Treasure of the Mediterranean mission of the interactive game A Pirate's Adventure: Treasure of the Seven Seas found in the Magic Kingdom's Adventureland.

In it, he competes with Jack Sparrow and Sparrow's operatives in the Pirate League in a race to obtain the Treasure of the Mediterranean after being informed by his spies.

In the early 1690s, he found himself employed in a more irregular capacity.

First in the slave trade, operating out of the Bahamas, and later as first mate aboard a privateering vessel called the Charles II, contracted by the Spanish government to harass French shipping in the Caribbean.

It was here, in the heat and frustration of that venture, that something shifted in him.

The expedition was plagued by delays.
