Captain Canada

This week, he brings us a quick chat with actor John Rhys-Davies and a longer talk with Richard Comley, co-creator of Captain Canuck.

He talks about why he tones down the sex and violence in his stories, how he's increased his use of Captain Canuck as a political statement, the character's relation to the various characters called Captain Canada, and more.

'Cause it says that Captain Canuck is kind of a bit of a play on Captain Canada, but I don't know if those dates match up, 'cause I don't think Captain Canada's published till 1979.

Mm.

Then there's another one called The Legend of Captain Atlantis, which is just some more of the stories, some different stories.

And then a bit later, still in the early '80s, they developed the character of Captain Canada.

So this was meant to even have, like, kind of wider, more mainstream appeal.

This whole story is, it's a young man named Daniel Eaton.

He's from Montreal.

He's granted the powers of Captain Canada by Captain Newfoundland, and then there's this whole wonderful story where he's, again, learning how to meditate, astral project.

He ends up saving the Queen from a giant robot in Ottawa, and Wayne Gretzky's there.

It's incredible.
