Cape Cod Community College

Sure.

ACE was founded back in 2011 by two adjunct professors at Cape Cod Community College.

And they saw a need for an organization, Advocates for Community College Education, that had not been met.

They saw students who were arriving at the college.

It's a budget item, and so it's potentially vulnerable each year.

And it also has a lot of requirements.

So, for example, if a family moves here and the student goes to a Cape High School for two years, does really well, and wants to go to Cape Cod Community College and get free tuition, they can't.

Oh, wow.

And I didn't wanna be a total perv in life, so I always thought, "Well, okay, I'm g-- I'll go to high school games when I'm down here, and I can't get off the Cape if I'm stuck, I'm working or whatever, but I'll go to college stuff when I have my time off." I'll drive up from Cape Cod to Boston, and I'll go to some of the college wrestling stuff.

The only college down on Cape Cod was Cape Cod Community College, and, and they didn't even have an athletic program or a workout room or a gym or anything.

So, so if I had to do it down on Cape Cod, it had to be a high school, unfortunately.

And then in just about 1983, I got a camcorder, and it was one of the first ones that they ever put out.

Thanks.

A 21-year-old Cape Cod community college student detained by federal immigration authorities at Logan Airport has been released after 44 hours in custody.

Sarah Betancourt has more.

Carlos Maldonado Valle is originally from Honduras.

I went to DY.

I went to CCD in Brewster.

I am literally part of this community.

I'm raising my family here.
