Capcom Cup

That never happens.

You- bro, they say Capcom Cup is, you know, Capcom Cup 2025 and is in 2026, 'cause it's in March.

That happens all the time.

Yeah, but that's usually 'cause the finals bleed over into the next year.

He was just there to compete for a, um, Evo title, and he's there again after getting second place at Evo Japan, so he's been doing very good this year.

And then Tachikawa, he was seed number 49.

He was here for a shot in the dark to qualify for Capcom Cup 'cause he had no chance on the point leader board at all.

And, uh, apparently the lore is he, since he was doing so bad over the season, he was grinding really hard online to get to rank number one before this tournament to, like, really lock in and prepare, uh, because he was feeling pretty bad about his overall performance in the CPT this season.

Like- Yeah ...

Capcom Cup is, like, pay-per-view over there.

Uh- Yeah ... and, and here.

Uh, but yeah, very good.

Then we head to a parallel universe again with Japan and their Street Fighter 6 National Parent-Child Tournament.

In this tournament, school-aged kids are paired with their parents, competing to win a full expense trip paid to Tokyo and tickets to Capcom Cup 13.

We reflect on how this is even possible with Street Fighter 6 being so ubiquitous in Japanese culture, what this means for the professional scene, and how it contrasts with what we have going on here in America.

Also, over on the Patreon page, me and Idem have the run back this time, and what else besides 2XKO, booting up to play duos for the first time in quite a while.

Uh, the kid is y- I think around, like, middle school to early high school age is my understanding.

And they are doing regional qualifiers, uh, to get people into a final 8- 18 bracket.

So one winner from each region, each eight different regions of the parent and the kid, and then the winner of that, they will win free trips to Tokyo, tickets to Capcom Cup 13 for them, and also some tickets for their friends and family as well to Capcom Cup 13.

And this was put on in participation with, you know, Capcom itself.
